Do we really want to go back to Normal

Mendocino before Sheltering In
The chorus is growing louder to get back to "normal".

Was normal working? Was normal living your dream? In normal were you thriving or just barely surviving?

I don't want to go back to normal.  Although I loved my job as a Bistro Manager, I was short staffed the whole time. I broke down my body trying to be normal. For the first three weeks of it, I physically worked a job that required three employees not one.

I don't want to go back to normal.  When I worked my own pet sit business,  I never had enough time to spend with my own animals.  I was too busy and overwhelmed taking care of others.

I don't want to go back to normal.  I am watching the oil industry crash and praying this is one of the final pushes to bring us closer to clean energy.

I don't want to go back to normal.  I am hearing the Pope and Politicians and Business Owners talk seriously of a Universal Wage to pull most of us out of working poverty.

I don't want to go back to normal.  I see friends and family spending more time with their kids and partners.

I don't want to go back to normal.  The dogs are happy.  They are spending more time outdoors with their people instead of cooped up in the house.

I don't want to go back to normal.  Permaculture and small CSA farms are thriving and being supported right now.

I don't want to go back to normal.  Pollution levels are lowering.  We are not consuming as much. Large corporate slaughterhouses that cause animal and human suffering are shutting down.

I don't want to go back to normal.

I want to be free. I want to leave my home and go to the beach. I want to work.

But, I don't want to go back to normal.
